ObamaCare punishes cardiology and oncology to finance GPs.
A wonderfully written article about payment issues around healthcare. Specifically targeted for 2010, are decreased reimbursements for the specialties of cardiology and radiation oncology. These areas are targeted for an 11% and 19% cut on reimbursement because the specialists in these areas are highly trained and use expensive technology.
What a Cool thing to do for people!
In October of 2007, Bellin Hospital began offering therapeutic hypothermia to patients who had suffered cardiac arrest. This "cool" new therapy, actually cools the body temperature, and helps to save your brain if you have had a heart attack.
Bellin earns Kudos for Stroke Care
Bellin Health recently earned recognition from the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s “Get with the Guidelines” stroke program for providing superior service in the treatment of stroke patients.
Bellin joins 15 other hospitals statewide scheduled to be featured in the 2010 “America’s Best Hospitals” issue of U.S. News & World Report. Bellin also will be recognized at an International Stroke Conference scheduled for February of 2010.
Chicago Museum's Interactive Heart
Get an up-close look at the human heart like you’ve never seen before when Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry debuts its newest permanent exhibit: YOU! The Experience, opening Oct. 8. The centerpiece of the exhibit is a 13-foot high and eight-foot wide interactive structure that uses cutting-edge technology to virtually and physically re-create the human heart (see photo below).

I only caution you that the physician mentions that there are no side effects of taking red yeast rice. The FDA in the United States has no safety profile on this nutritional supplement. We do not really know what side effects it could have, but we do know it is very similar to a statin medication.
