7th grader collapses from heart problem. AED saves the day!

Did you see this amazing video on Fox News? I caught it on Yahoo! News last night and I just have to tell you about the story. A 7th grader collapsed because of a heart condition and she is living to tell her story about it.

The video can be viewed by clicking on the link at the bottom of the page. It is amazing what happened to this young girl and it is absolutely incredible what the teachers at her school were able to do to.

Kylee Shea wasn't feeling very well, she says she was feeling really tired. She was walking in a hallway and went to sit down on a bench. But she missed the bench and fell to the floor. To her rescue, was a teacher at the school. She called for help and another teacher rushed to their side. Kylee needed CPR (chest compression). She wasn't breathing and her heart wasn't beating. The AED was hooked up and able to detect a heart rhythm, but it wasn't a normal rhythm. It was one that she needed to be shocked out of! And that is what they did. It saved her life.

Thank heavens for schools, restraunts, businesses, malls etc that have AEDs in them. You never know when something like this could happen. And it can happen to you if you are young or old.
