The new Wound Healing Center at Bellin, officially opened this June, 2010. This has been a very exciting transition for patients, physicians and staff at Bellin. Why would this be so exciting?
Our Aim is to achieve a Wound CareCenter of Excellence
The Bellin Health Wound Healing Center will provide:
- Improved quality of care using evidenced-based pathways
- 7 physicians and 3 clinical staff who received advanced training in wound care and hyperbaric medicine
- Care for diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers, venous stasis ulcers and other non-healing wounds
- Diagnostic tests to determine cause of non-healing wounds: x-rays, non-invasive vascular studies, MRI, CT scans
- Primary care referral process
- Referrals to specialists (Vascular surgeons, podiatry, peripheral interventionalist, plastic surgeon, infectious disease)
