The Bellin 10

Please allow me to introduce you to the Bellin 10.  10 individuals, who over the next 10 weeks will share their thoughts, experiences, obstacles and barriers as they prepare for this years Bellin 10K Run. 10 runners on the road to better health not just in their participation in a common activity, but also as employees of Bellin Health.  

                               

Melissa Brockman – Acute Care Physical Therapist, Bellin Health.

Linda Maxwell – Bellin Run High School Challenge Coordinator, Admissions Representitive, Bellin Health.

Julie Phelps – Licensed Athletic Trainer, Bellin Health Sports Medicine.

Anne Vollrath – Registered Dietician, Bellin Health.

Jenny Wisneski - Personal Trainer, Bellin Health Fitness Center.

 

Jim Dietsche – Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, Bellin Health.

Mike Eisele – Personal Trainer, Bellin Health Fitness Center.

Kim Lasecki – Director of Outpatient Services for Bellin Psychiatric Center.

Steve Novotny – Primary Care Physician, Bellin Health.

Nate Vandervest – Performance Specialist, XL Athletic Performance from Bellin Health.

 

10 people that live “normal” lives.  They work long hours, they have family responsibilities, and they have social obligations that control their daily schedules. I am sure they can think of any number of reasons why they shouldn’t sneak out for a run… …but I am sure they always do! 

 

They are now a team of 10 members who have committed to participate in an event.  They have set their goals, and thanks to modern technology, they will share them with thousands of others…

 

10 individuals, 10 stories, 10 goals, 1 race. 

 

How can you join us on the road to better health?

 

Set a goal to walk, run or simply participate in an event like the Bellin 10K Run.

Commit to accomplishing your goal – Register today!

Share your goal with anyone who will listen, they will hold you accountable to your goal.

Challenge others to join you.  As you will see, training is much more fun when you run as part of a group.

An early season marathon has

An early season marathon has caused an ITB flare up. There could be worse problems but it is tough getting motivated when you can't run. Hopefully this will get better soon and I can get back with the program. In the mean time, it is the eliptical(ugh) and work on strength and core

Have been there Steve...your forced time off will just fuel the fire for your next goal! Congrats on your first marathon, great job! Hope your back on the road soon.
